How it works:
Indexing – whereby you switch to a month to month service provider that follows the Natural Gas pricing, but generally stays about 10 to 15% lower than the utility. Index rates are based upon market ESTIMATES, and are not a guaranteed quote. Your rate will fluctuate from time to time but generally will be much less expensive than what the local utility will charge you. Again, this service is month to month, so if you choose to change back to your local utility, then you can do so at any time without penalty.
Guarantee of Rates – choosing this option will guarantee your rates are stabilized for the duration of your agreement. The “All in Rate” is usually 8 to 16% lower than your prior year’s service charges. All in rates usually require an agreement be put into place on the same day that the quote is returned due to daily market fluctuation.
